'Medical Misfortune': South Jersey Firefighter In ICU With Brain Bleed, Fundraiser Says
A volunteer fire department in Monroeville was rallying to support a firefighter who was airlifted to a Philadelphia hospital, according to a fundraising campaign. Justin Parker, 42, was taken by helicopter to the Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience after a "medical emergency" at work on Thursday, Aug. 15, according to a GoFundMe page. Fire Chief Jeff Foote said Parker was put on a ventilator in the intensive care unit with a brain bleed. A 35-year-old former Pennsylvania prison guard has been charged with violating an inmate's constitutional rights for several offenses, authorities said. Ivory S. Four men from Philadelphia were arrested in connection with a shooting in Atlantic City, authorities said. On Sunday, July 28, at about 4:30 a.m., Atlantic City police responded to the 2400 block of Atlantic Avenue for a report of a man shot. Police found a victim, 31, of Linwood, suffering from a gunshot wound.
