Authorities have named the Asbury Park woman who was struck by a van and killed on a busy Neptune Township road. Bridget Mobley, 70, died in the pedestrian crash on Route 66, a Monmouth County Prosecutor's office spokesperson said on Thursday, Dec. 12. Neptune Township police responded to the collision at around 7:36 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Investigators said a man was driving west in a 2021 Ford Transit when the van hit the pedestrians. Two men were facing murder charges in connection with the deadly shooting of a Neptune Township man more than two and a half years ago, authorities said. A grand jury indicted Kedrick Chatmon of Keansburg and Lamare Walker of Barnegat were indicted for first-degree murder and first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release on Monday, Nov. 25. A former Jackson Township man was facing charges in a Howell Township crash that killed a father more than two years ago, authorities said. Drew Peterson of Jensen Beach, Florida, was indicted for second-degree vehicular manslaughter, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Three Jersey Shore public high schools were recognized among the 100 best in the U.S., according to an education data website. Niche has released its 2025 Best Public High Schools in America list. The website said its rankings are based on "rigorous analysis of key statistics," U.S. Department of Education data, and millions of reviews from students and parents. Sundown Swimmers At Unguarded NJ Beach Rescued
Three swimmers were rescued while in the water after sunset in Ocean Grove, officials said. Rescuers were called to a swimmer in distress near the pier at the Main Avenue beach at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, the ANSWER team said in a Facebook post. The report was quickly upgraded to three swimmers in distress. When emergency crews arrived, they saw the three swimmers screaming for help.
