Driver, 23, Ejected, Killed In I-295 Crash: State Police

A 23-year-old man was killed after being ejected from his SUV during a crash on Interstate 295 in Gloucester County, authorities said.

Jose Contreras, of Hammonton, was heading north in an Isuzu Ascender and was approaching the Exit 11A ramp when he lost control navigating a curve just after 10:45 p.m. Saturday, March 22 in Logan Township, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.

The vehicle struck the curb and guardrail, then overturned near milepost 11.8, Lebron said. Contreras was ejected from the vehicle and died, Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available at this time, police said.
