Dump Truck Driver Cited For Disregarding A Stop Sign In Fatal South Jersey Crash: Prosecutor
The dump truck driver accused of passing through a stop sign in a fatal crash in Cumberland County has been formally cited, authorities said on Tuesday, July 2.
Lamaas Arthur, 55, of Port Norris, received citations for disregarding a stop sign and careless driving, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.
The crash was on Thursday, June 20 in Commercial Township.
No criminal charges had been filed as of Tuesday.
New Jersey State Police said that Arthur had "numerous motor vehicle violations."

Bicyclist, 14, Dies Days After Route 38 Crash, State Police Say
A 14-year-old bicyclist hospitalized after being struck by an SUV in Burlington County a week ago died two days later, authorities said.
The teenager was hit on the westbound side of Route 38 at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14 as he tried to cross the highway near milepost 19.1 in Southampton, New Jersey State Police said.
Emergency workers brought the 14-year-old to an area hospital where he died on Sunday, June 16, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesman.
The driver, 44, from the Browns Mills section of Pemberton Township, has not been charged, Lebron said.

Pedestrian Struck By SUV, Killed Near South Jersey Shopping Plaza: Police
A pedestrian was hit by an SUV and killed near a shopping plaza in Egg Harbor Township, authorities said.
Leon Barrett, 78, of Pleasantville, died in the crash on Wednesday, June 19, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to the scene on Black Horse Pike (Route 40) in front of Oak Tree Plaza at around 12:09 a.m.
Investigators said a 2015 Honda CR-V was heading east on Black Horse Pike when it struck Barrett, who was walking in the road. Barrett was pronounced dead at the crash scene.
