A former Penns Grove man admitted to his role in a scheme to steal checks and rob mail carriers, authorities said.
Dezhon McCrae, 25, pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, possession of a stolen postal key, possession of stolen mail, aggravated identity theft, and conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery, New Jersey's U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger said in a news release.

A Lindenwold man will spend up to nine decades in prison after helping lure another man into a Mount Laurel hotel room and killing him, authorities said.
Jawaad Ali, 33, was sentenced on Friday, Sept. 27 to 90 years in state prison, Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia Bradshaw said in a news release. He was convicted of murder in the killing of 31-year-old Samer Alhalayqa of Camden on Friday, May 8, 2020.

Four people have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting of a bicyclist in Trenton last month, authorities said.
Dajon Bethea, 26, of Trenton, Shyheim McMillon, 27, of Trenton, Jamir Black, 26, of Trenton, and Shatwan Liverman, 27, of Suffolk, Virginia, are each charged with conspiracy to commit murder, according to Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Theresa L. Hilton.
Additionally, Bethea and McMillon each face a charge of accomplice liability murder, she said.
