A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Bloomfield on Sunday, Oct. 13, authorities said. The crash occurred after 11 p.m. near Boughton Avenue, the Bloomfield police said. Six vehicles crashed on the New Jersey Turnpike in Bordentown Township, causing traffic backups for several miles, officials said. Troopers responded to the crash at 11:26 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, a state police spokesperson said. It happened on the northbound outer highway north of Exit 7 near milepost 54.4. Investigators said the crash involved two tractor-trailers, a transit bus, a flatbed truck, a box truck, and a transit van. Police have made an arrest in a hit-and-run crash that killed a popular Newark man. Ahmed Bouda, 29 has been charged after authorities said he struck and killed Corey Claybrook around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 on the 600 block of Springfield Avenue then fled the scene, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. Claybrook died approximately one hour later. Man Critical After Struck In Hit, Run Crash In Bayonne: Prosecutor
A 25-year-old Bayonne man is in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene on the early morning of Sunday, Oct. 13, authorities said. At 12:20 a.m., Bayonne police responded to Route 440 and 22nd Street and found the man with life-threatening injuries, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The 38-year-old Budd Lake (Morris County) driver lost control of the 2022 Mack truck in the eastbound lanes in Clifton while trying to avoid a crash with another car around 5:05 a.m. near Main Avenue, Police Lt. Two students were struck by a vehicle on the morning of Monday, Oct. 7 in Maplewood, authorities said. Several horses were medically treated after the trailers they were being towed in were struck on the New Jersey Turnpike Tuesday, Sept. 10, firefighters said. Kyle Silas, of Orange, was heading west on a Fly Wing electric motorcycle when he struck a Ford sedan near milepost 16 in Kearny around 4:35 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.
