Fourteen suspects have been arrested in 12 Newark committed from Saturday, June 1 through Monday, Sept. 30, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. On Tuesday, June 4, Ty'Shon Young, a 27-year-old Newark resident was killed in a double shooting on the 200 block of South Orange Avenue, authorities said. An investigation by detectives from the Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force led to the arrest of Timothy Young, 34, for the murder, authorities said.…

Woman Shot, Suspects Apprehended After Pursuit: Police A woman was shot and four suspects were apprehended in Newark on the morning of Tuesday, July 16, authorities said. At 10:01 a.m., police observed two men exiting a stolen vehicle at S. 10th Street and South Orange Avenue,  Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The two men proceeded to fire weapons, striking a woman, Fragé said. The woman was transported to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition, Fragé said.
