Pair Of Tropical Systems Threaten To Become Next Named Storm Of Hurricane Season Forecasters are monitoring a pair of systems in the tropics that could develop into named storms. One system, called Invest 94L, is now in the Central Atlantic, and expected to pass near the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico on Friday, Oct. 18, and then move toward the Turks and Caicos or the Dominican Republic this weekend, according to the National Hurricane Center. New Tropical System In Atlantic Being Watched By Forecasters Forecasters are monitoring a new system in the eastern Atlantic Ocean. It's located a few hundred miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands in West Africa.
