An explosion rocked Northeast Philadelphia after a medical jet crashed into a densely populated area, igniting multiple fires and injuring people both in the air and on the ground, authorities told Daily Voice.
A Mexican-registered Learjet 55, registered as XA-UCI, crashed near Cottman Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard just after 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, after departing from Northeast Philadelphia Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

It was a long night for firefighters in Jersey City with multiple fires and harrowing conditions, authorities said.
At 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, firefighters responded to a working fire to 203 Harrison Ave, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said. The fire was in the second floor ceiling with extension into the third floor, Wallace-Scalfione said.

A fire on Thursday, Jan. 2 hit home for Ralph Parlapiano, a firefighter in New Providence for 46 years, including a decade as chief.
Parlapiano's home was ravaged by a fire, destroying everything he owns and killing his dog, Breeze, according to a fundraiser.
