Man Charged In Jersey City New Year's Day Hit, Run: Hudson County Prosecutor
A 28-year-old Jersey City man was arrested and charged on Thursday, Jan. 16 with a hit and run crash on New Year's Day, authorities said.
At 3 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, Jersey City police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck at Communipaw Avenue and Marcy Avenue, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. A 19-year-old Jersey City resident was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, Suarez said.

A 32-year-old Bayonne man was arrested and charged on Wednesday, Jan. 8 with striking an officer with his motorcycle last month.
On Friday, Dec. 20 at 1:36 p.m., officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Kennedy Blvd. and 31st Street when they saw a motorcycle with a fictitious New Jersey registration, Bayonne police said.

A 31-year-old DUI driver is facing multiple charges in a crash that left a family and a teenager seriously injured in Edison, police said.
Alyssa Figueredo, 31, of Cranford, drove through a red light around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28 on Route 1 north at Parsonage Road in Edison, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan said.

Fleeing Driver Hits Officer, Arrested At NJ Costco: Police
A 27-year-old Denville man was arrested and charged after he struck a police officer while fleeing on Sunday, Oct. 20, authorities said.
While officers were conducting a traffic stop on Indian Road, it was discovered the driver, Liam Harrigan, had an active NCIC Warrant out of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, Denville police said.
As officers attempted to take Harrigan into custody, he fled from them in his vehicle, police said. While fleeing, Harrigan struck a Denville police officer, leaving him with minor injuries, authorities said.

A BMW driver is facing multiple charges after crashing and injuring a family of four on Route 3 on Thursday, Oct. 3, authorities said.
Hamza M. Abdelaziz, 20, of Clifton, was racing in a 2023 black BMW 540 when he struck the Fair Lawn family's vehicle on the Berry’s Creek Bridge in the eastbound lanes in Rutherford, just prior to the East Rutherford border around 1:10 p.m., Rutherford Police Chief John Russo said.
