$494K Ticket Sold In Big Lotto Win At South Jersey Supermarket
A lottery ticket worth nearly $500,000 was purchased at a Burlington County supermarket on the same day someone won the ninth-largest jackpot in U.S. history, officials said.
The winner of a $494,401 jackpot in the Jersey Cash 5 was sold at the ShopRite on Route 38 in Hainesport, the New Jersey Lottery said in a news release on Monday, Dec. 30. The ticket was in the drawing on Friday, Dec. 27.
The winning numbers were 8, 13, 31, 40, and 43. The XTRA number was 2 and the Bullseye number was 31.

A Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was purchased at a convenience store in Burlington County, officials said.
The winner was sold at the Lukoil gas station on East Kings Highway in Maple Shade, the New Jersey Lottery said in a news release on Monday, Dec. 16. The ticket matched four of the five white balls in the drawing on Saturday, Dec. 14.
The winning numbers were 12, 17, 23, 52, and 67. The Powerball was 1 and the Power Play multiplier was 2X.
Another ticket in New Jersey also brought home a $50,000 prize. That winner was bought at a gas station in Phillipsburg.

Child Overdosed On Cocaine, South Jersey Drug Dealer Federally Charged: Prosecutors
A Maple Shade man was accused of selling drugs after bringing an overdosing child to a hospital, authorities said.
Daniel Garcia Jr., 27, was charged with possession with intent to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine and possession of firearms by a convicted felon, New Jersey's U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger said in a news release on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
According to court documents and statements, Garcia and another person rushed the child to the hospital on Sunday, June 23. The child wasn't breathing, was having seizures, was drooling, and was unresponsive.

The community is rallying to raise burial expenses for the 26-year-old South Jersey man killed in a crash on Friday, July 5 on Interstate 295, according to a GoFundMe campaign.
Nicholas Schroeder, of Maple Shade, was heading south when his Land Rover ran off the road to the left, struck a metal guardrail, got back on the roadway and struck a GMC SUV also heading south around 12:35 p.m. at milepost 44.4 in Westampton, New Jersey State Police Sgt. More than 8,000 New Jersey residents were without power amid another round of storms on Sunday, June 22.
PSE&G's outage map shows 5,341 were in the dark in Burlington County and more than 3,000 in Camden. The majority of the outages were in Maple Shade, Moorestown, Haddon and Pennsauken.
In Union County, nearly 1,000 had lost power in Westfield.
Smaller but more widespread outages were reported on the Jersey Shore, according to JCP&L, specifically in Long Branch, Red Bank, Asbury Park, Hazlet, Middletown, Keansburg, and Matawan.
