A popular surf shop chain founded on the Jersey Shore is shutting down its Ocean City store after three years of business. Ron Jon Surf Shop will close its location on the corner of Asbury Avenue and East Eighth Street, the store announced in a Facebook post on Wednesday, Sept. 18. The shop opened in 2021 and its last day will be Sunday, Oct. 6. Portnoy Gifts Fan Buffalo Chicken Slice During Review Of Jersey Shore Pizzeria
Buffalo chicken pizza isn't Dave Portnoy's taste. And neither is a floppy crust. The Barstool CEO, continuing his "One Bite" review stint along the Jersey Shore stopped by Salerno's in Hazlet. The Bethany Road pizzeria threw in a free slice of buffalo chicken, but Portnoy made it abundantly clear, it's not his thing. So much so that he gave it to a nearby fan. Portnoy ultimately gave the pizza 7.3, deducting points for a floppy crust, but the fan reviewed his free slice of buffalo chicken: 8.3.

The Jersey Shore pizza tour continues. At a brewery. Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy stopped by Alternate Ending Beer Co. in Aberdeen to try its pies. To be clear, the kitchen is run by Talula's, an Asbury Park-based restaurant whose website touts sourdough pizza. Portnoy, on the second stop of his "One Bite" review tour, said the pie was Detroit-style, and more of a winter pizza. "It looks heavy, it is heavy," he said. "It's good stuff — it's heavy." Luxury Hotel Replacing 3 Motels In Jersey Shore Borough Long-Reputed As Party Town
A Jersey Shore town that gained a reputation for being one of the best places to party while down the shore is getting a rebrand. And it's in part due to a luxury hotel set to replace three of the motels in Seaside Heights that haven't exactly been helping the family-friendly atmosphere. Jersey Shore Toll Bridge Apologizes For Double-Charging Some Drivers
You might want to check your credit card statement if you recently took a popular bridge to get to Margate. In a Facebook post, the Downbeach Express said it double-charged some customers on Thursday, June 27. The privately owned toll bridge between Northfield and Margate charges drivers $2.50 each way or $1.85 for Express Pass users. Downbeach Express said its credit card processing company had a technical issue that caused the duplicate charges. Jersey Shore City Cracking Down On 'Pop-Up' Parties, Adding Police Along Beaches
A city in Monmouth County said it's renewing an effort to crack down on unauthorized “pop-up” parties. The mayor and public safety director of Long Branch issued a joint statement on Tuesday, June 4 about a "significant police presence" over the upcoming weekend. The city said a "pop-up" event was advertised on social media that was scheduled for Saturday, June 8. A teen was accused of a stabbing on the Ocean City Boardwalk that caused a chaotic scene on Memorial Day weekend, authorities said. The teen was arrested in Pleasantville on Tuesday, June 4, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland said in a news release. Ocean City police said officers responded to a large fight between a group of teens on the 1000 block of the Boardwalk at around 9:12 p.m. on Saturday, May 25. The National Weather Service is predicting two rounds of thunderstorms in New Jersey and Pennsylvania on Thursday, May 23.
