South Jersey HS Athlete Killed By Train Remembered For Playing, Living 'Bigger Than Himself' Friends and loved ones were rallying to support the family of a Palmyra teen killed by a New Jersey Transit train. Matthew Dickinson died on Thursday, Aug. 8, according to the Palmyra School District. He was 15 years old. Dickinson was hit by a River Line train at the Chestnut Street crossing just before 8:20 a.m., a NJ Transit spokesperson said. He was walking to a soccer scrimmage, FOX 29 News reported. Man Dies Saving Two Children From Drowning In South Jersey River: Fundraiser A Mays Landing man was remembered as a hero after dying while saving two children from drowning in the Great Egg Harbor River, according to a fundraising campaign. A GoFundMe page said Pablo Hernandez Cruz died at Weymouth Furnace County Park in Hamilton Township on Wednesday, July 17. Philly Mom Caused Infant Son's OD Tranq Death In South Jersey, Prosecutor Says A 32-year-old woman from Philadelphia has been charged with causing the death of her 10-month-old son through exposure to an illicit veterinary drug in South Jersey, authorities said. Vanessa Hampton, of the Frankford section of Philadelphia, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and drug possession, according to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. A GoFundMe page was created for a boy named Chris who's a junior at Pinelands Regional High School in Little Egg Harbor Township. Chris plays football for the Pinelands Wildcats and also is a player in the South Jersey Flag Football Association. Chris was recently diagnosed with stage three rhabdomyosarcoma.
