SUV Submerged At Dam In Pittsgrove Sparks Overnight Rescue Effort, Firefighters Say An SUV was discovered submerged at the bottom of a dam in Pittsgrove, prompting a large-scale rescue operation involving multiple agencies, officials said. First responders arrived at the corner of Deerfield Road and Centerton Road early in the morning on Monday, Dec. 16, the Centerton Fire Company said in a Facebook post. When firefighters arrived, they found one person safely out of the vehicle and scattered debris at the scene—but no car in sight. Pittsgrove's Frank Bittle II, Heavy Equipment Operator, 46 Frank Bittle II, of Pittsgrove, died on June 2, according to an obituary published by Adams Funeral Home. He was 46 years old. A heavy equipment operator, like his father and grandfather, Frank was an extremely proud member of IUOE Local 825.  "He loved to talk and was a social butterfly," his obituary said. "No matter where he went, if he ran into someone he knew or didn't know for that matter he would strike up a conversation."
