NJ Councilman Threatened Tow Truck Driver With Firearm: Prosecutor Kerry Coley, a councilman in the City of Orange Township was arrested and charged on Monday, March 10, after he displayed a gun at a tow truck driver last October, authorities said. On Wednesday, Oct. 9, Coley displayed the gun to a tow truck driver who was in the process of towing a vehicle owned by Coley's relative, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II and City of Orange Township Police Director Todd Warren said. Massive Fire Erupts In Essex County Building A massive fire ripped through a building in Essex County over the weekend. The blaze out late Sunday night, Dec. 1, in a vacant three-story building on the 400 block of Main Street in Orange, formerly home to the Rossi Paint Company, according to Orange Deputy Fire Chief Elvin Padilla Jr. The Orange Fire Department, led by Deputy Chief Rivera, responded to the blaze at approximately 9:30 p.m., encountering heavy flames consuming the top floor of the structure. Murder Suspect Arrested Days After Essex County Park Killing, Prosecutor Says Police have arrested a 24-year-old man in the killing of a 28-year-old man in an Essex County park earlier this month. Brandon Beasley is accused of shooting and killing DeAndre Smith in Metcalf Park on Valley Street in Orange on Thursday, Sept. 12, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Orange Public Safety Director Todd Warren said.
