Five-Alarm Fire Displaces 17 In Bayonne, Arson Task Force Investigating
The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force is investigating a five-alarm fire that tore through a residential building in Bayonne, displacing 17 people on Friday, Nov. 22, authorities said. The fire broke out at approximately 11:45 a.m. at 458 Avenue C, Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Upon arrival, Bayonne firefighters saw heavy smoke and flames coming from a bedroom inside one of the apartments, officials said. Car Crashes Into Building In Summit: Authorities
A car crashed into a townhouse in Summit on the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 25, authorities said. Firefighters and police responded to the scene at Norwood Avenue at 9:43 a.m., a spokesperson for the City of Summit said in a release. Upon arrival, crews discovered that a resident’s vehicle had crashed through an internal wall in the garage, causing mild structural damage, authorities said. Service to NJ Transit and Amtrak trains was disrupted for the second time this week on Thursday, June 20 due to both power issues and brush fires along the NJ Turnpike, officials said. Amtrak service between Philadelphia and New Haven had been suspended while NJ Transit service in and out of NY Penn Station was also suspended, due to power issues on the Amtrak line, NJ Transit said. Handcuffed Woman, 21, Rescued By Franklin Lakes Firefighters
"Kids playing around" brought firefighters to a Franklin Lakes home where a 21-year-old woman was unable to free herself from a pair of handcuffs. Franklin Lakes firefighters and police responded to the $2 million home off Pulis Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday, May 18, Police Capt. Robert Grassi said.
