Irvington police responded to 101 21st Street and found Shanniyya Major, a 32-year-old East Orange woman unresponsive with multiple stab wounds, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. She was transported to University Hospital in Newark where she was pronounced dead, authorities said. Man Fatally Stabbed in East Orange: Prosecutor A 51-year-old man was fatally stabbed in East Orange on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 13, authorities said. At 11:29 a.m., East Orange police responded to an apartment on the 500 block of Main Street and found William Gilliam with apparent stab wounds, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and East Orange Police Chief Phyllis Bindi said. Gilliam was pronounced dead soon after, authorities said.
