Bayonne Burglar, 'Heavyset' Getaway Driver Tracked Down In Jersey City: Police
A Jersey City man trying to break into a Bayonne home and his getaway driver are in custody, police said. Kenneth Dowdy, 43, was dressed in all black and trying to pry open an apartment door at 233 Avenue B in Bayonne when he was confronted by a building resident around 7:25 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, police said. "A witness then saw the actor enter the passenger seat of a vehicle that was parked nearby, which was being driven by a ‘heavy-set” female," police said in a release. A 39-year-old Paterson man has been charged with providing the drugs that allegedly resulted in a fatal overdose of a Westwood man in May, authorities said. Jesus A. Hoboken police are asking the public for help identifying two people who may -- or may not -- have been directly involved in a botched carjacking nearly two months ago.
