Man Robbed Of Phone At Gunpoint: Newark PD A man was robbed of his cell phone at gunpoint in Newark on the evening of Friday, Aug. 9, authorities said. At 10 p.m., a man exited a business on the 200 block of Lyons Avenue when he was surrounded by a group of men who had been inside, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The men demanded the victim change the Face ID on his cell phone, with one lifting his shirt and displaying a handgun tucked into his waistband, Fragé said. Man Shot By Police In Newark After Wild Struggle: AG A man shot by police in Newark on Monday evening, Aug. 12 is in critical but stable condition, authorities said.
