A female driver was saved from overdosing at a DWI checkpoint in Monmouth County, authorities said. The unidentified woman pulled into the checkpoint off Asbury Park Circle in Ocean Township at night on Friday, May 31, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release on Friday, June 7. A Wall Township man had been arrested for attacking his ex-girlfriend three months before killing her with a machete in front of one of her children, according to arrest records. Jersey Shore Road Reopens 12+ Hours After Tractor-Trailer Crashes Into Utility Pole
A tractor-trailer crashed into a utility pole in Monmouth County, shutting down a road for more than 12 hours, officials said. Crews responded to the crash on Broadway between Locust Avenue and Route 36 on Thursday, June 6, the West Long Branch Office of Emergency Management posted on Facebook at 4:09 p.m. No injuries were reported in the wreck. $100K Powerball Ticket Sold At Central Jersey Supermarket
A Powerball ticket worth $100,000 was purchased at a Monmouth County supermarket, officials said. The winner was sold at the ShopRite grocery store on Route 35 in Hazlet, the New Jersey Lottery said in a news release. The ticket matched four numbers and the Powerball in the drawing on Saturday, June 1. The winning numbers were 28, 38, 52, 54, and 68. The Powerball was 8.
