Would-Be Jumper Hospitalized After Closing Lanes Of George Washington Bridge (

A would-be George Washington Bridge jumper was hospitalized Tuesday night, Sept. 24, after bringing traffic along the bridge to a halt, authorities said. A spokesperson for the Port Authority Police Department confirmed the investigation but not have any further information as of 7:40 p.m. Wednesday morning, a spokesperson said that the incident was reported at 5:42 p.m. near the 179th Street ramp in the westbound lanes. All lanes along the ramp were closed. The man was removed and taken to a local hospital, the PAPD said. Traffic resumed at 7:24 p.m.

A 62-year-old man from Philadelphia and a 53-year-old woman from Deptford were killed in a head-on crash in Gloucester County, authorities said. Overturned Truck On Route 287 Causes Delays:

A truck has overturned on Route 287 in Morris County on Wednesday, Aug. 14, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. The truck overturned at 7:38 a.m. on Route 287 in Morris Township south of Exit 34, the NJDOT said. Two left lanes are closed, causing a 35 to 40 minute delay, the NJDOT said.

Tractor Trailer Driver, 22, Airlifted In Route 80 Crash
The driver of a tractor trailer was airlifted to the hospital in a Route 80 crash early Friday, July 12 in Warren County, police said. The 22-year-old Lodi, CA man was heading east when he ran off the left side of the roadway, struck the guardrail, went into a ditch, and collided with a tree just after 6:40 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. The unnamed man sustained moderate injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital. The crash remains under investigation, and there was no further information.

A crash on Route 46 in Morris County on Monday, June 24 has caused all lanes to be closed, the state Department of Transportation said. The crash investigation was ongoing on Route 46 in both directions west of Naughright Road in Mount Olive Township. NJ Transit, Amtrak Service Resumes After Power Outage, Brush Fire
Service to NJ Transit and Amtrak trains was disrupted for the second time this week on Thursday, June 20 due to both power issues and brush fires along the NJ Turnpike, officials said. Amtrak service between Philadelphia and New Haven had been suspended while NJ Transit service in and out of NY Penn Station was also suspended, due to power issues on the Amtrak line, NJ Transit said.
