Middlesex County Truck Driver Killed In Turnpike Crash: Njsp A 59-year-old Keasbey truck driver was killed in a crash between two tractor trailers on the New Jersey Turnpike in Linden on the early morning of Tuesday, March 11, authorities said. At 12:11 a.m., a Freightliner tractor trailer, driven by Jose Diaz, was going southbound on the Turnpike on the outer roadway, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Two People Fatally Struck By Truck In Elizabeth IDed: Authorities Two people in their 20s were fatally struck by a truck in Elizabeth on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 19, authorities said. Tatiana Liceth, a 26-year-old Elizabeth resident, and Edisson Mauricio, 24 , were crossing the roadway at Routes 1 and 9 and Maple Avenue, when a tractor trailer that was stopped at the light proceeded forward when the southbound light turned green, a spokeswoman for the city said.  Liceth and Mauricio were fatally struck, while the driver remain on scene, authorities said. The crash remains under investigation, authorities said.

Truck Driver Killed In Route 3 Explosion ID'd, 29 NJ Transit Passengers Escape Injury Authorities have identified the truck driver killed in the crash and explosion earlier this week on Route 3 in Clifton. Luis Santiago, 55, of Linden, was operating the commercial truck that clipped an NJ Transit bus carrying 29 passengers in the eastbound lanes Monday morning, July 22, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi said. Santiago's truck then crashed into a barrier near Valley Road and Grove Street, causing the vehicle to erupt in flames.
