A 73-year-old driver from Somerset County died of his injuries on Sunday, July 21 — five days after a single-car crash on Interstate 287 in Middlesex County, authorities said. Bill Schocklin was driving south near milepost 8.8 in Pisscataway at about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16 when his Nissan veered off I-287, struck a guard rail and overturned, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron. Schocklin, of the Somerset section of Franklin, was ejected from the Nissan, Lebron said. He was brought to an area hospital with moderate injuries, he said. A 31-year-old driver from Camden County was charged with driving while intoxicated, assault by auto, reckless driving and child endangerment after striking a utility pole in Gloucester County, authorities said. Driver Flown In Burlington County Crash Dies, Police Say
A 57-year-old Cinnaminson driver has died after being airlifted to an area hospital in a Moorestown crash, police said. The driver, who was not identified by name, struck a tree in a two-door sedan on Tom Brown Road just before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, according to police. He was airlifted to Cooper Hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later. No other vehicles were involved. The Moorestown Police Department’s Traffic Unit is conducting the investigation.

DUI Driver Crashed Stolen Car On Route 1: Police
Authorities have identified the driver of a stolen car that crashed into a utility pole along Route 1 in Central Jersey. Jordan White, 35, of Paterson, crashed on Friday,, June 28, South Brunswick police said. He was seriously injured, they said. White allegedly was under the influence of drugs, police said, and the 2007 Lincoln Town car he was driving was stolen. He was charged with receiving stolen property, driving under the influence, and numerous motor vehicle violations, police said.

An Avon-by-the-Sea man was accused of driving while intoxicated when he crashed into a vehicle and drove onto the Belmar boardwalk, authorities said. Jason Nagy, 44, was arrested on Thursday, July 11, the Belmar Police Department said in a news release. A 26-year-old man died after crashing his SUV on I-295 Friday, July 5, authorities said. Nicholas Schroeder was heading south in a Land Rover when he ran off the road to the left, struck a metal guardrail, got back on the roadway and struck a GMC SUV also heading south around 12:35 p.m. in Westampton at milepost 44.4, New Jersey State Police Sgt.
