An officer noticed a dark blue Hyundai Palisade driving recklessly near Teaneck Road on Route 4 and tried to stop the vehicle at 9:45 p.m., a spokesperson for the Bergen County Sheriff's Office said. Stella was struck by the vehicle in Hackensack on Oct. 13 and taken to Oradell Animal Hospital, where she was treated for broken ribs and a fractured pelvis.  Stella has been transferred to the Bergen County Animal Shelter in Teterboro, where officials said she needs between four and six more weeks of recovery time before she can be adopted out.
