The Jennings Creek Wildfire has burned more than 2,200 acres across Passaic County, NJ, and Orange County, NY, and shifting winds are blowing smoke into surrounding areas. Crash Investigation Shuts Routes 19, 80 In Paterson
A crash investigation closed a portion of Route 19 and Route 80 on Sunday morning, Nov. 3 in Paterson, the NJDOT site shows. The crash happened around 11 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Route 19, south of Route 80. All lanes were closed as of press time. The eastbound lanes of Route 80 at Exit 57 were also closed.

Driver, 19, Killed In Route 80 Crash
A 19-year-old driver was killed in an early-morning Route 80 crash when he rear-ended a box truck stopped in the shoulder, authorities said. Cameron Ray, of Flanders, was heading west in a Subrau when he rear-ended the truck near milepost 38.2 in Denville around 5:40 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said. Ray died as a result of the crash while the box truck driver suffered minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available.

Motorcyclist Killed After Being Ejected, Run Over In Route 280 Crash: Police (

A 52-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an early-morning crash on Route 280 in Hudson County, police said. Kyle Silas, of Orange, was heading west on a Fly Wing electric motorcycle when he struck a Ford sedan near milepost 16 in Kearny around 4:35 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. Silas was ejected then run over by a Dodge, Lebron said. He died as a result of the accident.

A crash and fuel spill closed all lanes of Route 80 in Wayne on Monday afternoon, Aug. 19, according to the NJDOT site. As of 2:22 p.m., all westbound lanes west of Exit 53 were closed. Delays up to 15 minutes were being reported.

A portion of Route 20 was closed in Paterson early Sunday, Aug. 18 due to a crash. According to the NDJOT site, the crash took down a utility pole in the southbound lanes before 6 a.m. at 42nd Street. As of 8:50 a.m., the roadway was closed. No further details were immediately available.

Police in Rutherford are investigating a Route 3 crash that they say was likely caused by a driver in the express lanes trying to cut across to the local lanes Sunday, Aug. 11. A 51-year-old man from Sussex was in a Honda Fit was in the left lane of the westbound express lanes when he tried to cut across the roadway to get to the local exits near Park Avenue when he clipped a Toyota Highlander around 4:20 p.m., Rutherford Police Chief John Russo said. A crash involving two NJ Department of Transportation vehicles and a dump truck closed Route 208 in Bergen County Monday, July 15, police said. The NJDOT vehicles were conducting street sweeping operations in a work zone on the left shoulder of the roadway in the left shoulder near Summit Avenue when the crash with a privately-owned dump truck occurred just after 10:15 a.m. in Franklin Lakes, Police Capt. A 45-year-old Easton, PA man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Route 78 in New Jersey on Tuesday, July 2, authorities said. At 10:04 p.m., a BMW motorcycle traveling eastbound on Route 78 in Greenwich Township struck the back of a 2017 Toyota Camry, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist, whose name has not been released, was ejected and was subsequently struck by a 2020 Toyota Camry, killing him, Marchan said.
