Two people were killed in a Paterson fire early Friday, Sept. 20, authorities said. While a 28-year-old and 69-year-old man were able to escape, the bodies of two other victims were found in the home at 71 North 7th Street just after 2:30 a.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Service to NJ Transit and Amtrak trains was disrupted for the second time this week on Thursday, June 20 due to both power issues and brush fires along the NJ Turnpike, officials said. Amtrak service between Philadelphia and New Haven had been suspended while NJ Transit service in and out of NY Penn Station was also suspended, due to power issues on the Amtrak line, NJ Transit said. Handcuffed Woman, 21, Rescued By Franklin Lakes Firefighters
"Kids playing around" brought firefighters to a Franklin Lakes home where a 21-year-old woman was unable to free herself from a pair of handcuffs. Franklin Lakes firefighters and police responded to the $2 million home off Pulis Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday, May 18, Police Capt. Robert Grassi said. The borough's bravest cut off the bracelets without injury to the woman, the captain said.
