Box Truck Overturns Into Woods Trapping Victim Along Route 287 (Photos) A box truck overturned into the woods along Route 287 early Friday, Jan. 10, trapping one person inside of the vehicle, firefighters said (scroll down for photos). Firefighters responded to Route 287 South off of Route 78 West and found a box truck overturned with a person trapped inside, the Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department said.  Firefighters worked to clear trees and extricate the driver, authorities said. Man Seriously Injured After Crash On Route 287: Njsp A man suffered serious injuries following a collision on Route 287 in Somerset County on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 18. At 5:18 p.m., a Ford pickup truck was traveling northbound on Route 287 in Bridgewater Township when it veered off the roadway to the right, struck the guardrail and then crossed into another lane, and hit another guardrail, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The driver, a 66-year-old Lake Hopatcong resident sustained serious injuries, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Dad Convicted In Route 287 Road Rage Shooting With Youngsters In Car: Prosecutor A 41-year-old Middlesex County dad has been convicted of multiple charges in a road rage shooting on a Route 287 exit ramp in May 2023, authorities said. While driving in heavy traffic on Easton Avenue in Franklin Township by the Route 287 exit ramp, Gerald Chapman pulled alongside the victim's car and struck the passenger side mirror with his left hand, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said.
