Man Shot Multiple Times In Jersey City: Authorities
A man was shot several times in Jersey City on the early morning of Sunday, July 21, authorities said. At 12:58 a.m., police responded to 260 Bright St. for a report of a man shot, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office, said. The victim, 31, was already transported to a nearby hospital, where he was in critical but stable condition with gunshot wounds to his right clavicle, left buttock, and groin region, Wallace-Scalfione said. The investigation is ongoing, Wallace-Scalfione said.

Worker, 22, Killed While Operating Tree Equipment At Cemetery In Hunterdon County: Prosecutor
A 22-year-old Flemington man was killed while operating tree-chipping equipment at a cemetery on Wednesday, July 10, authorities said. At 6:20 p.m., police responded to Saint Magdalen Cemetery in Flemington and found Eonias Mateo-Perez dead from his injuries, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée Robeson said. A grand jury has decided not to indict Newark police officers who fatally shot a 29-year-old man in May 2023.
