Masked Suspects Escape With Cash In South Jersey Bank Heist, Prosecutors Say
Police were asking for help after two armed suspects robbed a bank in Voorhees, authorities said. The robbery happened at the PNC Bank on Haddonfield-Berlin Road on Tuesday, Dec. 17, Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay said in a news release. Surveillance footage shows two suspects entering the bank at around 10:22 a.m. One suspect aimed a handgun at a bank employee, while the other approached a teller. New Jersey hospitals are among the safest in the nation, according to the fall 2024 Hospital Safety Grade report from The Leapfrog Group. The Garden State ranks in the top 10 states for the highest percentage of "A" hospitals, joining states like Utah, Virginia, and Connecticut. The grades, which are updated twice a year, assess nearly 3,000 hospitals across the country on their effectiveness at preventing medical errors, accidents, and infections. A South Jersey healthcare system was accused of discriminating against pregnant patients with a mandatory drug testing policy, authorities said. Attorney General Matthew Platkin has filed a lawsuit against Virtua Health, according to a news release on Thursday, Sept. 26. A community is mourning their loss after a 32-year-old woman died due to a traumatic brain injury following a hit-run crash on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia. A stray cat has tested positive for rabies about two weeks after it was brought to an animal shelter in Camden County, authorities said. The veterinarian who treated the cat in Voorhees has been advised to seek medical attention, according to the Camden County Health Department. Heather Marie Owens died on May 17 after a courageous two-year battle with breast cancer, according to an obituary published by Bradley Funeral Home. She was 40 years old. A driver was shot shortly before he was involved in a multi-vehicle crash in South Jersey, authorities said. The 30-year-old man from Voorhees had a gunshot wound when police arrived at the crash scene at Route 73 and Cooper Road at about 11:15 p.m. on Friday, May 17, Voorhees police said.
