Man, 75, Standing By Disabled SUV Killed In South Jersey Crash: Troopers A Buena man was struck by a pickup and killed while standing next to his disabled SUV in Deerfield Township, authorities said. Marvin Saunders, 75, died in the crash on Thursday, Dec. 19, a state police spokesperson said. Troopers responded to the scene on Big Oak Road at approximately 6:35 p.m. Investigators said Saunders stood next to his disabled Nissan Pathfinder, which was in the eastbound lane. A Ford F-150 traveling east hit Saunders and his Nissan. Saunders was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. The crash remained under investigation.

NJ Teen Who Killed Wawa Employee With Truck During Dispute Sentenced, Prosecutors Say An Old Bridge teen will spend up to a decade in prison for killing a gas station worker in a pickup, authorities said. Bryce Lomas from the township's Parlin section was sentenced on Thursday, Oct. 17 to 10 years in state prison, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said in a news release. The 18-year-old pleaded guilty to second-degree vehicular homicide and knowingly leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash resulting in death on Monday, Apr. 22. John and Patrick Mahoney, both of Washington Township, died in a collision on Tuesday, June 4 at Union and Mays Landing Roads, as previously reported by Daily Voice.  Police said John was driving a Toyota Yaris when he failed to yield to a Ford F-250 operated by an 81-year-old, which caused the crash.
