Massive Hotel Proposed To Replace Shuttered Jersey Shore Amusement Park: Reports
A developer is planning to bring a new purpose to a shuttered and iconic amusement park on the Ocean City boardwalk, according to reports. Wonderland Pier owner Eustace Mita said he wants to create a 252-room hotel on the site of the theme park that closed in October, abc6 Action News reported. Mita is also the developer and CEO of ICONA Resorts. The $135 to $155 million proposal would preserve Wonderland's famous Ferris wheel and carousel. Central Jersey Mall To Open First New Store Amid $500M Redevelopment
The first store at a revamped Monmouth Mall is about to open, officials said. The new Barnes & Noble location in Eatontown will open on Wednesday, Nov. 20, the bookstore chain said in a news release. A New Jersey construction company owner admitted to using his personal bank account to evade more than $1.3 million in taxes, authorities said. Alain Rodrigues, 49, of Old Bridge, pleaded guilty on Thursday, Aug. 1 to tax evasion and failure to collect and pay over taxes, New Jersey's U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger said in a news release on Tuesday, Aug. 6. Man Killed In NJ Turnpike Rollover Crash, 33
A 33-year-old man from Burlington County was killed in a rollover crash on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said. Jesse Marques Nobre of Delran was killed in the crash at about 6:40 a.m. on Friday, June 7, according to New Jersey State Police. Jesse worked for Repair All LLC Construction of Delran with his father for many years, according to an obituary published by Buyus Funeral Home.
