School Shelters In Place After Fleeing Driver Crashes In Bergen County: Police A 29-year-old Hasbrouck Heights man was arrested Friday, Jan. 3 after fleeing from police and crashing a Mercedes SUV into a utility pole near an elementary school, police said. Officer John Mullins was patrolling near Hasbrouck Heights High School around 12:27 p.m. when he spotted a driver later identified as Joel Ventura in a blue Mercedes SUV making an improper turn, Hasbrouck Heights Police Lt. Truck Topples Pole In Bloomingdale A Bloomingdale street is shut down after a truck collided with a utility pole around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 13.  Bloomingdale police reported that the crash on Leary Avenue resulted in a complete closure of the road to all traffic as crews work to clear the scene and repair the damage. The department shared a photo of the scene on Instagram.

A 2006 BMW operated by Ian P. Route 4 Reopens Nearly 12+ Hours After Crash Downs Wires Route 4 has reopened more than 12 hours after a crash downed a pole and live wires in Teaneck, police said. Sometime after 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 2, a crash took down a pole in the westbound lanes near River Road, local police said. All lanes were closed with traffic getting by in one lane on the eastbound side, police said. At 9:30 p.m., Teaneck police announced the roadway had been reopened and all repairs had been made. Details in the accident were not immediately available.
