Firefighter Injured During Santa Detail In Bergen County (Photos) A Glen Rock volunteer firefighter was hospitalized Saturday night, Dec. 21, after sustaining a head injury during a "Santa Detail" event, according to incident reporter Boyd A. Loving. The 24-year-old firefighter was riding on top of a fire truck when his head was struck by a low-hanging tree branch on Doremus Avenue, near the Glen Rock Municipal Pool, Loving said.  The injury, described as non-life-threatening, prompted an immediate response from local emergency services. SUV Launched Onto Ridgewood Lawn In Crash, 1 Hospitalized One person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash that sent an SUV careening onto a lawn in Ridgewood on Wednesday morning, Nov. 20. The collision, which occurred near a residential and commercial structure at South Maple Avenue and Dayton Street, left one victim with a non-life-threatening back and neck injury. Bergen County Bottle King Employee Hospitalized After Chasing Down Shoplifter Halloween Night A Bergen County Bottle King employee was hospitalized with injuries suffered while trying to chase down a shoplifter Thursday night, Oct. 31, Daily Voice has learned. Police were trying to determine exactly how the employee of the Glen Rock store on Prospect Street was injured — he may have tripped and fallen, or have been struck by a car sometime around 7:30 p.m., incident reporter Boyd A. Loving said. He was ultimately taken to The Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
