Former Pompton Lakes Educator Jennifer Paradiso Dies, 44: 'Always Saw The Best In People'
Support is on the rise for the family of Jennifer Paradiso, 44, a Bergen County wife, mother of three, and longtime educator, who died on Thursday, Dec. 12.
“Jenn was an incredible wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend who always saw the best in people,” reads a GoFundMe page that had raised more than $22,800 as of press time.
Jenn battled cancer twice, once in 2015 and again in early 2023.

SWAT Team Called To Bergen County Home After Restraining Order Violation Escalates: Police
A Bergen County SWAT team was called to an Oakland home Sunday morning, Nov. 24, after a restraining order violation escalated into a barricade situation, local police said.
Officers responded to a residence on River Road at 8:37 a.m. for a report of a restraining order violation involving Carlos Rocha, 43, formerly of Oakland, who had been barred from the home, Oakland Police Capt. Timothy Keenan said.

Smoke from the Jennings Creek Wildfire was wafting over portions of North Jersey, causing a rapid decline in air quality Friday, Nov. 15.
The Jennings Creek Wildfire, which has scorched 2,283 acres across Passaic County, NJ, and Orange County, NY, was 90% contained Friday, Nov. 15, a week after it broke out, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.

High-Speed Pursuit, Crash Nets 3 Arrests In Bergen County, Police Say
Thee people including a 17-year-old were arrested after a high-speed pursuit and subsequent crash in Bergen County early Thursday, June 20, police said.
Oakland police officer Karley Greulich saw a man in all black with his hoodie up and a ski mask near Enterprise Rent-a-Car around 2:40 a.m., Oakland police Capt. Timothy Keenan said.
