A Paterson porch pirate is facing charges for swiping a $1,000 electronics package from a Lyndhurst home, police announced.
Jeison Sime Martinez, 24, was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, after the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department apprehended him during a motor vehicle violation investigation, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said.
The arrest stemmed from an incident on Tuesday, Oct. 22, when a Lyndhurst resident reported that a package had been stolen from their front porch.

A 37-year-old man who police found asleep behind the wheel of a car was found with drugs and more than $1,100 in cash, police in Bergen County said.
Lyndhurst Police Officer Dorio approached a Toyota Corolla stopped in the middle of the 300 block of Harding Avenue around 3:35 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, where a man later identified as Daniel Barro Jr., of Clifton, was sleeping behind the wheel, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said.
With the vehicle running and still in drive, Dorio rendered the vehicle safe before waking Barro.

A 29-year-old assault suspect is facing charges in Lyndhurst after leading officers on a foot pursuit then becoming combative during the arrest, police said.
Lyndhurst Lt. Paul Haggerty and Officer Michael Carrino were called to a dispute on the 200 block of Orient Way around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 20, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said in a release.
At the scene, officers learned one man had been assaulted by Mike Londono, a Lyndhurst resident, Auteri said.
