Austin Gilchrist was unresponsive and slumped over the steering wheel of a Ford Escape with its engine running, when Lyndhurst police were called to DeJessa Bridge just before 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said. When attempts to wake Gilchrist failed, officers forced entry into the vehicle.
