The avalanche struck in the Alaska backcountry near Girdwood, a small resort town, late Tuesday afternoon, March 4, local time. A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew from Atlantic City raced to rescue a tanker crew member who suffered a chemical injury while working more than 11 miles away from the New York Harbor, officials said. Child Hospitalized After Being Saved By Firefighter In Monmouth County Apartment Blaze
A child was hospitalized with injuries suffered in a two-alarm fire that ripped through a Monmouth County apartment complex Saturday, Oct. 26, authorities said. Firefighters were called to the 1400 block of Rustic Drive in Middlebrook, for a report of a fire inside one of the building’s apartments around 2:15 p.m., a spokesperson for the county prosecutor's office said. PA Man, 55, Pulled From Jersey Shore Inlet Dies, Two Swimmers Rescued: Police
A Pennsylvania man died and two other swimmers were rescued on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. Avon-by-the-Sea police responded to a report of several swimmers in distress at the Washington Avenue beach at around 6:34 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22, the department said in a news release. Rescue swimmers saved two people and brought them to shore. They were rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for evaluation.
