Dozens Suffer Burns From Recalled Heated Blankets: What To Know Nearly 200,000 heated blankets and heating pads are being recalled after more than 50 people suffered burns. JKMAX issued the recall for about 195,000 heated blankets and heating pads, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday, Sept. 17. The products were imported by Jiande Pengshuai Trading Co., Ltd., of China. The blankets and pads can overheat because of their internal wire heating elements, posing fire and burn hazards. JKMAX has received 577 reports of the products smoking, melting, or burning, including 53 burn injuries, according to the CPSC.
