Ford Recalls 272K+ Vehicles For Sudden Battery Failure Linked To Crash Risk
More than 272,000 Ford vehicles are being recalled because of defective 12-volt batteries that could degrade suddenly, causing power loss and increasing crash risk, officials said. Ford issued the recall for certain Maverick pickups and Bronco Sport SUVs, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said. The recall affects Bronco Sport models from 2021-2023 and Maverick models from 2022-2023. The issue stems from a manufacturing defect in 12-volt batteries made by Camel, according to Ford. Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with residential burglaries in Paramus that date back to August 2024, police announced. One of the suspects had previously been arrested last September for burglarizing cars in an East Rutherford hotel parking lot. The Paramus burglaries occurred just minutes apart on Aug. 13, 2024, in the northern section of the borough, Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said. Porsche Stolen During Jersey Shore Home Break-In Found In Newark, Police Say
Three masked suspects forced their way into a Wall Township home, stealing a Porsche, a gun, and keys, authorities said. The burglary happened on River Road at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, the Wall Township Police Department said in a news release. Investigators said the trio broke into the home by forcing open a window while the homeowners were asleep. A 19-year-old hockey player from Bergen County was killed after his car caught fire on Route 80 in Warren County on the evening of Sunday, Dec. 1, authorities said. At 8:21 p.m., a Hyundai SUV driven by Carmine Argenziano was traveling westbound on Route 80 in Hope Township when it veered off the right side of the roadway, hit multiple trees and then caught fire, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Passenger Jumps Out Of Moving SUV On NJ Turnpike In Bergen County: Police
One person was hospitalized with serious injuries after plunging out of a moving vehicle along the New Jersey Turnpike, police said. A Hyundai SUV was traveling north on the western spur in East Rutherford at milepost 113.2 around 9:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 when the front seat passenger jumped from the moving car, NJSP Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. The passenger struck the pavement and sustained serious injuries. No further information was provided.
