Two Charged In Crash That Injured Kearny Moped Operator On Super Bowl Sunday: Prosecutor Two Kearny residents were arrested and charged on Monday, Dec. 2  after a moped operator was seriously injured in a crash on Super Bowl Sunday authorities said. On Sunday, Feb. 11, a moped operator was struck by a cargo van in the area of Harrison Avenue and Bergen Avenue in Kearny, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. A 67-year-old North Arlington man sustained life-threatening injuries, Suarez said. The cargo van did not remain on the scene, but was recovered near the crash site, Suarez said. Food Delivery Worker Knocked Out, Robbed: Newark PD A food delivery worker was robbed and knocked into unconsciousness in Newark on Friday, July 19, authorities said. At 9:30 p.m., a delivery person arrived on a moped with a food order at an apartment building on the 900 block of Broad Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.  After parking his vehicle in the parking lot, the suspect struck the worker in the back of the head, calling him to fall to the ground unconscious, Fragé said. Hit-Run Crash Seriously Injures 2 Moped Riders In Jersey City: Prosecutor Two moped riders were seriously injured following a hit-and-run crash in Jersey City on the early morning of Saturday, June 29, authorities said. At 12:20 a.m., two moped riders, a 36-year-old East Orange man and a 26-year-old Newark woman were riding their mopeds at Martin Luther King Drive and Wilkinson Avenue when they were struck by a vehicle, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.  The vehicle did not remain at the scene, Suarez said.
