Man Shot In Newark, Three People Detained: Police
A man was shot in Newark on the evening of Friday, Sept. 13, authorities said. At 7:57 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of South 16th Street on a report of a shooting, and found a man who had been shot, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. A handgun was also recovered at the scene, Fragé said. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition, Fragé said. Three suspects were detained in connection with the investigation, Fragé said.

At 4:38 a.m., police responded to the 400 block of Washington Street and located the man who had been shot, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. A juvenile was arrested for shooting a person in the hip following an altercation in Bayonne on the evening of Thursday, Aug. 22, authorities said. At 7:58 p.m., the juvenile was involved in a verbal disagreement with a person at a house party in the area of W 9th Street, which culminated in the juvenile shooting the victim in the hip, Bayonne police said. Two men were recently arrested and charged for assaulting another man with a motorcycle helmet outside a bar in Guttenberg in June, authorities said. The person was shot in the head on the 800 block of Elizabeth Avenue at around 1:50 a.m., the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. A man was hospitalized after he experienced a medical emergency while driving and crashed into a pole in Newark on the morning of Thursday, Aug. 8, authorities said. At 11:10 a.m., police responded to a vehicle colliding with a pole at Lyons Avenue and Hobson Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. A man was shot several times in Jersey City on the early morning of Sunday, July 21, authorities said. At 12:58 a.m., police responded to 260 Bright St. for a report of a man shot, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office, said. Baby Dies After Being Left In Car In Morris County: Prosecutor
Authorities in Morris County are investigating the death of a 6-month-old infant on Wednesday, July 17. Police were called to a parking lot near South Ridgedale Avenue at Route 10 in East Hanover around 1:30 p.m. where they found the baby girl in a parked vehicle, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said.
