Man Admits To NYC Man's Stabbing Death At Atlantic City Motel, Prosecutors Say
An Atlantic City man admitted to stabbing a New York City man to death at a motel, authorities said. Julio Vazquez-Dones, 38, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Oct. 23 to first-degree aggravated manslaughter, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. He was facing charges in the killing of 31-year-old Jewel Lonon from the Rosedale neighborhood of Queens. 14-Year-Old Charged In Fatal Jersey City Shooting: Prosecutor
A 14-year-old Jersey City boy was arrested and charged as a juvenile with murder on Monday, Oct. 21, in connection with a shooting that killed a 19-year-old on Friday, Oct. 11. At 5 p.m., Jersey City police responded to shots fired in Garfield Avenue and found Kashyne Grant suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment, where he was pronounced dead just after 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 14. The 14-year-old was charged with murder and multiple weapons offenses, Suarez said.

A 19-year-old was fatally shot in Jersey City on Friday, Oct. 11, authorities said. A group of ski-masked men including one homicide suspect are in police custody after officers stopped them and found 25 stolen checks in the vehicle early Friday, Oct. 4 in Morris County, police said. Man Gets 16 Years For Fatal New Year's Day Jersey City Stabbing: Prosecutor
A 49-year-old Jersey City man was sentenced to 16 years in state prison on Thursday, Sept. 19 for fatally stabbing a man on New Year's Day 2021. At 2:45 a.m., Jersey City police located Tyrone Haskins, a 39-year-old Jersey City resident at 333 Ocean Ave. with a stab wound to his torso, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 3:20 a.m. Darius Evans was sentenced after pleading guilty to aggravated manslaughter in May, Suarez said.

Toddler Killed After Dog Attack In Newark: Prosecutor
An 18-month old toddler was killed after being attacked by a dog in Newark on the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 3, authorities said.
