A 20-year-old East Orange man was fatally shot in Irvington on early Monday morning, June 24, authorities said. At 1:22 a.m., Irvington police responded to the 300 block of 21st Street and found Quashawn Moses suffering from gunshot wounds, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Irvington Public Safety Director Tracy Bowers said. He was pronounced dead at 2:59 a.m., authorities said. UPDATE: A man wanted for questioning in a New York City shooting pulled out a gun in the lobby of a Woodbridge hotel and was killed in a shootout with police, authorities said. A Woodbridge police officer and a New York City homicide detective were wounded in the exchange, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin said. A man was shot and killed in Newark on the evening of Thursday, June 13, authorities said. The shooting occurred at Sussex Avenue and Duryea Street, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. A 36-year-old Newark man has been convicted of murder for a 2018 homicide in Newark after his initial conviction was reversed in 2022, authorities said. Hassan Todd was found guilty in the shooting death Elijah Roberts, which occurred on Sept. 22, 2018 on Avon Ave. in Newark, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said.
