An off-duty Bloomingdale police detective is being credited with saving a woman’s life after a serious motor vehicle crash on Route 23 in Hardyston early this week. Detective Dustin Gomes had just finished his shift and was driving home when he came upon a crash in which a vehicle had struck a utility pole, causing a transformer to spark dangerously on Monday, Jan. 19, the department said in a news release.
