A 7-year-old boy was hospitalized after shooting himself in the hand in Newark on Monday, Aug. 25, authorities said. At 10:50 a.m., police responded Newark Beth Israel Medical Center on a call of a 7-year-old boy arriving there with his parent for treatment of a self-inflicted gunshot injury to the hand, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said.
