A video showing the arrest of a 28-year-old surfer from California in New Jersey apparently over failure to possess a beach badge is under review, authorities said. Video taken Tuesday, Aug. 20, and shared to Facebook by Austin Downs, shows officers arresting Liam Mahoney of Junction City, CA, in Belmar. Mahoney and a female friend can be heard arguing over a beach badge with officers, who restrain him. At one point, Mahoney appears to try to swat one of the officers away, and a struggle ensues. Dog's Death At South Jersey Grooming Salon Leads To Biz Owner's Heroin Arrest: Affidavit
The death of a dog at a South Jersey pet grooming business led police to heroin possessed by the groomer, authorities said. Woodbury police officers responded to the K-9 Kingdom grooming business at 588 Woodbury-Glassboro Road in Woodbury Heights at about 1 p.m. on Friday, July 12 for a complaint about a dog's death, police said in a press statement. The animal’s owner told police the business' owner, Trevor J. Hunt, 39, of West Deptford, called to say their dog had died, police said. Eight Women, Girls Arrested For Large Fight, Assaulting Atlantic City Officers: Police
Four women and four girls were arrested after a large fight in Atlantic City, authorities said. Atlantic City police responded to a large group fighting outside on the 400 block of North Delaware Avenue at around 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, the department said in a news release on Monday, June 10. The group was a mix of adults and children, mostly females. Officers arrested three females during the fight. Man With Gun Tried To Steal Mother's Car With Child In Backseat In Atlantic City: Police
An Atlantic City man was accused of trying to steal a mother's car while she was inside it with her child, authorities said. Tuwan Gainer, 31, was arrested on Saturday, May 25, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release. The woman stopped an officer to report the attempted carjacking at around 1:10 a.m. Investigators said Gainer approached her car with a gun near the intersection of Bellevue and Pacific avenues.
