A Hudson Valley father murdered his wife before jumping to his death from a bridge, orphaning their two toddlers, police said.
Emergency crews in Ulster County were called to the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge for a report of a jumper at around noon Wednesday, April 23.
A short time later, investigators located the body of Caleb Smith, 45, of Kingston. When officers went to his Fair Street residence to notify his family, they found his wife, 37-year-old Kaleigh Smith, dead from stab wounds, police said.

15-Year-Old Girl Stabbed Teen: Bridgeton PD
A 15-year-old girl was arrested and charged with stabbing a 16-year-old boy on Sunday, April 6 in Bridgeton, authorities said.
Around noon, officers were called to a residence on the 100 block of Church Street and found the boy, a Bridgeton resident, bleeding, Bridgeton police said.
He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and released, police said.
The girl was charged under a juvenile complaint with aggravated assault with a weapon, police said. She was lodged in the Ocean County Detention Center pending a court hearing, police said.

A 35-year-old Atlantic City man was arrested and charged with stabbing a man after a fight on Saturday, April 5, authorities said.
At 8:48 a.m., officers responded to the 3200 block of Fairmount Avenue and found the stabbing victim, transporting him to a nearby hospital, for non-life-threatening injuries, Atlantic City police said.
Officers were able to obtain video of the assault, the suspect, and the vehicle he fled in, police said. Officers used an automated license plate reader system and learned the vehicle had Atlantic City on Route 30, police said.

A 27-year-old Collingswood man was arrested and charged after a stabbing at a brewery on Saturday, Feb. 22, authorities said.

A Ventnor City man will spend several years in prison after stabbing a man in Absecon on New Year's Day nearly four years ago, authorities said.
