Crash Involving Pedestrian Shuts Down Central Jersey Road, Police Say Police were at the scene of a crash involving a pedestrian in a Monmouth County township, authorities said. Officers responded to the crash on Bethany Road on Monday, Aug. 12, Holmdel police said in a Facebook post at 9:15 a.m.  The crash investigation closed Bethany between Hillcrest and Line roads. Police didn't mention how many vehicles were involved or the condition of the pedestrian. Police ID Pedestrian Killed Near Freehold Raceway A 76-year-old Manalapan man was killed after he was struck by a cargo van in Freehold on Wednesday morning, Aug. 7, authorities said. Frank Tommasini who was crossing Park Avenue at Ann Street when he was struck by a 2022 Ram ProMaster van heading west on Route 33 around 11:25 a.m.,  Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said.
