Person With Assault Rifles On Car Shot In Sussex County, Officers Hospitalized: Report Multiple officers were hospitalized after a shooting involving a person with assault rifles on their vehicle Monday evening, Jan. 13 in Sussex County, according to NBC New York and the New Jersey State PBA. NBC New York shared photos of a red sedan that appeared to have multiple assault rifles attached to it parked in a wooded area of Byram Township. Citing a senior law enforcement officer, NBC4 says someone got out of the vehicle and police opened fire. Forklift Operator, 46, Killed By Police While Wielding Chainsaw In Central Jersey: AG Authorities have identified a Keansburg man shot and killed by police while wielding a chainsaw, along with the officers involved in the Memorial Day incident. Willem Roman, 46, died from his injuries on Friday, June 14. Attorney General Matt Platkin announced his death in a news release on Monday, July 1. Keansburg police were called to perform a welfare check at a home on Seabreeze Way at around 1:07 p.m. on Monday, May 27. Two officers entered the home and found Roman with a running chainsaw, along with several weapons. Investigators said Roman approached the officers with the chainsaw.…

The suspect was shot and killed at the scene, according to New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin.
