Former Flemington Councilman Gets Four Years For Distributing Cocaine: Prosecutor
A former councilman in Flemington was sentenced to four years in prison on Friday, Sept. 20 after pleading guilty to distributing cocaine, authorities said. Malik Johnston a.k.a. Pippin Folk has faced numerous legal problems. In April, Johnston, 47, was indicted for theft for stealing $1,000 from the Flemington Democratic Club's bank account at a branch in Bridgewater, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée Robeson said. Downed Pole, Wires On Route 12 Leave Hundreds Without Power In Flemington
A pole is down on Route 12 in Hunterdon County on Friday, Aug. 9, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. The downed pole and wires are down on Route 12 in both directions in Flemington at Reaville Avenue and Main Street, NJDOT said. One right lane is closed, NJDOT said. Nearly 200 JCP&L customers were without power, according to the outage map. Wind gusts up to 50 mph were wreaking havoc throughout the state, causing downed trees and power outages.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph were wreaking havoc across New Jersey on Friday, Aug. 9. As of 2:30 p.m., thousands of residents were without power and multiple roadways were closed due to downed wires and related crashes. Worker, 22, Killed While Operating Tree Equipment At Cemetery In Hunterdon County: Prosecutor
A 22-year-old Flemington man was killed while operating tree-chipping equipment at a cemetery on Wednesday, July 10, authorities said. At 6:20 p.m., police responded to Saint Magdalen Cemetery in Flemington and found Eonias Mateo-Perez dead from his injuries, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée Robeson said. His death was accidental, authorities said. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating, authorities said.
