PA Man, 55, Pulled From Jersey Shore Inlet Dies, Two Swimmers Rescued: Police
A Pennsylvania man died and two other swimmers were rescued on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. Avon-by-the-Sea police responded to a report of several swimmers in distress at the Washington Avenue beach at around 6:34 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22, the department said in a news release. Rescue swimmers saved two people and brought them to shore. They were rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for evaluation. Sundown Swimmers At Unguarded NJ Beach Rescued
Three swimmers were rescued while in the water after sunset in Ocean Grove, officials said. Rescuers were called to a swimmer in distress near the pier at the Main Avenue beach at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, the ANSWER team said in a Facebook post. The report was quickly upgraded to three swimmers in distress. When emergency crews arrived, they saw the three swimmers screaming for help. Newly-released bodycam footage shows the arrest of a wrong-way DWI driver who police say nearly hit multiple people before crashing into another vehicle then landing on a boardwalk along in a Jersey Shore town. As previously reported by Daily Voice, Jason Nagy, 44, of Avon-by-the-Sea, was arrested on Thursday, July 11, the Belmar Police Department.
